PROGRAM for SECOND YEAR NOVICES 2011-2012 (Fundamentals of Religious Life)

From: November 4, 2011 to March 16, 2012
- Every Friday

(Rationale and Ojective)

- The Instruction on Inter-Institute Collaboration for formation (CICSAL,1998) underscores that "intellectual preparation is an irreplaceable dimension of formation". In this connection, it says:"The ordering of subjects to be studied and scientific seriousness ought to contribute to harmonizing the attitudes proper to consecrated life. Thus the centers should offer a service of high quality to contribute wisely to the integral growth of the students" (IICF9). Among the novitiate subjects that the instruction considers essential is theology of religious life" (IICF16).

- ICLA’s program for second year novices seeks to complement the congregations’ own comprehensive novitiate programs and focuses on the anthropological and theological reflection on religious life in its "three basic aspects of consecration, communion and mission" (Vita Consecrata 13). In this way, it contributes to the pursuance of every congregation’s responsibility of providing serious intellectual formation which is necessary for the integral growth of the candidates to religious life.
